So all my corals look pretty good under my reef light, color etc . All my parameters are favorable. They are all open for the most part throughout the day.
My question is this, under regular natural light from the window they look like, in my opinion, somewhat anemic. I realize that the artificial light brings out certain colors that aren’t as vibrant as natural lighting.

Is using natural light a better way of gauging how corals are doing? I.e being bleached out etc? Or is the reef lighting a good source of truth?

You can usually pick up more details under artificial lighting.
So better source of truth under artificial?

Maybe I’m overthinking it, just want to make sure that I’m not getting a false sense of security with artificial lights. Having said that, I also understand there are other conditions that need to be taken into consideration (parameters, behavior, growth etc.)

thank you for your insight.

Other than my sun coral everything just seems to blend together in various pinks and beiges when viewed under natural light.
