So I got rid of my 150 and 30 gallon sump(so much work!) after losing it to a crash… I bought a used chiller and the guy told me it was run in a reef a little over a year before and it leached a high level of copper into my system killing $2400 worth of coral(mainly sps) and I ended up selling everything.
Once I was tank free for about 2 weeks a friend came into the LFS I worked at and offered me and my wife a free aquatop with a sump. My wife got excited because it was exactly what she wanted… and I was like okay but you get to take care of it… lol to be young and to think that sentence would hold weight.

so this build we decided to do a little more open build and try some new stuff. I have a single bi-colored hammer, bounce mushroom and GSP in there from my last tank. However this time we have decided to try flowerpots(goniapora, alviapora and the shorter goniapora that is not longer Goni’s… but I forgot the real name.)
This tank has been running smoothly and we were able to spent a little money on some upgrades this past week.

finally bought an icecap ATO! Man have I missed this!
Got a new pump! Fantastic working pump for a good price.(e flux current USA 1k GPH)
Icecap gyre (a 2k I broke in half and put in the corner)
Some more rock.(stacked a little different than normal scapes)
A new VCA random flow generator Flex.
And my son pulled on the cord of the old Kessil light which hit the water… and I had to replace with an AI prime(awesome upgrade!)
A tomini tang that is smaller than my clownfish!(probably get a year or so before moving to a larger tank!)
2 new clownfish (gladiator and black storm) there is already a black storm female (3 year old) that we are acclimating to the clownfish.
2 electric blue leg hermits
2 Halloween hermits
4-5 goniapora
2-3 alviapora
4-5 different types zoanthids on their own island arch
Awesome start to a new tank to us!

Great lookin tank!! Sry about the crash
I mean it happens but it’s nice to start on something smaller and allows for nicer tech/upgrades within the tank which is nice!
I feel we all go through atleast 1 crash… hopefully my last!
