Hey Guys-

Just ordered the Kamoer FX-STP (http://www.coralvue.com/kamoer-fx-stp-peristaltic-pump) from China to use with my Vertex calcium reactor. Not a huge fan of the common airline dosing tubing. On my Neptune DOS I was able to find a John Guest fitting that allowed me to connect the harder RODI style tubing.

Wondering if anyone knows of the appropriate part or modification to connect 1/4 push connect couplers to the heads, which seem to be similar to the kynar barbs.

Thanks!

I cant find a single barb to push connectors, but you can do it with two connectors. I think this is what you are looking for.

Hope this helps.

Mark

Looks like that would work. Was hoping to find a compatible barb to 1/4 stem adapter, but may not exist.

Anyone know the barb size for the pharmed tubing used by the pump heads? I think it’s 3/16.

On a similar note, when using peristaltic pumps for calcium reactors, do you typically push water through them or pull from the reactor? If pulling, do you need a feed pump or does the negative pressure create a syphon?

You should pull it. Input of the Kamoer pump will connect to effluent output of the Calcium Reactor. The peristaltic pump can handle the suction head pressure just fine and you can get rid of any feed pump that is sitting in your sump.

And now you are too. ;) Honestly, I almost didn't respond thinking it was only a month old. Too many hours at the screen today. Hey, better late than never.
