I was researching a source for colored pvc and noted on one site that stated furniture grade 'not for plumbing use'. I know BRS has it for sale but I need longer lengths. Any input on sourcing would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Dan

FORMUFIT PVC fittings and pipes are not National Sanitary Foundation (NSF) rated for plumbing applications. Our fittings are specifically designed for structural purposes and are not designed for plumbing use. While they will work in plumbing applications, they may fail inspection, as they are unmarked. FORMUFIT products CAN be used for irrigation, aquaponics, and aquarium applications since there is usually no inspection required.

Formufit is where I purchased my colored PVC pipe. They carry it in 40" and 60". The only caveat is there is a 10' minimum. Either (3) 40" pieces or (2) 60". The furniture grade pipe is fine for our use as I believe it is not recommended for very high pressure applications.

As long as it's sch40, it can be used just fine at the pressure our pumps can output. I use the colored ones from brs and pvc pipe supplies when I want something to look better than plain home depot/lowes pvc

I don’t know where BRS sources theirs, but it’s much less expensive through FORMUFIT!

I have used furniture grade before. As stated above it works perfectly fine for aquaria since we do not put the pipes under the type of pressure that it makes a difference.

It's only made in those shorter lengths

All of the other stuff I have read is that it is higher quality and stronger than schedule 40 PVC. And it is UV resistant apparently

I wonder where Royal Exclusive sources their red PVC. I doubt the get it from the furniture pipe people

Do they just make it themselves?

Our systems are not pressurized. Formufit furniture grade works fine.
