So here is the beginning of my 35 gallon tank with its new residences added in this weekend and new purchases to follow. I have a wavemaker coming in this week to increase my water flow too. Just wanted to show off and share.

Yes. I have it on an old marble top dresser my mom didnt want. She likes to buy hardy furniture so weight is not an issue and I have plenty of storage .

I put 1/2" foam padding under the tank and a large water absorbent dish mat, so those are sitting between the tank and the stone top.

It doesn't look like the corners are supported from the photo. Are they on the dresser? Also, the mat may actually make it worse; those look like two plate dryer pads with fabric wrapping and seems around the sides. The foam will compress but the fabric will not so I am concerned that over time you'll be putting extra pressure right in the middle of the big panes.

I hate to be a pain and its your tank; I'm just commenting because those potential issues jumped out at me.

I appreciate the concern. The corners are supported. They just clear the edge of the table with about 1/4" room around them. The pads make it look like it isnt. My dad had the same concern.

As far as the mats. The setup is table, dish pads, supporting mat, tank. I am primarily using the pads as a way to absorb the water whenever I do any work on or around the tank. I didnt use the mat that came with the tank, I got a higher density mat that is used in industrial machining (I had access to leftover from work and cut some for this specifically. I plan on trimming it all to shape so it fits better and looks cleaner, I just got tired this weekend and decided I was happy with it for now.

Just wanted to add some more pics from this morning.

Tried to get one of my Mandarin, but I was photobombed by everyone else!
