Hello, my dominate clown has been rubbing its lower body against the sand bed at night and I’ve never seen this before. I’ve had it for two months and the only other fish is another clown I’ve had for 3 weeks. Should I be worried?

I've seen mine doing this - I think they're trying to uncover or stir-up some food

Interesting I feed them a 1/3 cube of mysis shrimp twice a day. I worried it’s some sort of disease because I’m about to add a new fish

"Rubbing" could be a sign of disease
What mine do is like sort of shake their fins/body against the sand very fast but without moving much forward or backwards until they fling a bunch of sand out - then I see them turn around and look down as if inspecting their work.

I would highly advise setting up a quarantine tank for new fish - even if you don't want to medicate or pre-treat you could observe for a few weeks to see whether anything develops (on the new fish or the existing fish)

A video will help.... some clowns dig in the sand which would be normal. So we need to see what your definition of 'rubbing' is, to determine if its really digging or rubbing.
