I was just reading the thread about Sanjay Joshi's hybrid clowns and reminded me of the days when African cichlids were the hot thing in freshwater. People started interbreeding them and produced some interesting variations. Then people realized that the various species were getting confused and there was no way to tell what was what. Not sure how it is now with African cichlids, but, if we keep interbreeding clownfish we could end up in the same situation.
