clownfish Is acting strange and breathing very heavily. Cause?

He is eating and swimming around but what he normally does it clean out sand in a particular spot and spend his time there. He might normally do this and I have just not noticed but he is laying down on the clean bottom part.

here’s another video. Any other ideas? He is also very old.
Water appears milky in appearance and may have reduced oxygen slightly. If its been more than 12 hours since water change, have you tested ammonia and nitrate and what are readings?
What is your salinity and ph?
Fish breathing higher than normal - You can add airstone for added oxygen but is likely water related.
What filters does your tank utilize?

I have the fluvalsmart flex 32.5 and whatever Was the default filters it came with. I have recently ordered better testing kits since i found out that api tests dont actually work.

Do you also think it might be because of age, because the rest of my fish seem to be doing fine.
6 years is quite young for a clown - they frequently live 10-15 years, with reports of up to 50 years.

Doubtful as we never know actual age and even old fish tthrive4 well based on tank conditions and diet. I have 5-8 year old fish which have more energy than some juveniles. Ive seen 12 year clowns and typical average is 15 years.
50 years?

You have credible source that signifies 50 years ?
I'd have to place mine in my will as they will outlive me. Ive heard of 15. . . 50?

50 is a bit generous on my end - a significant outlier. I remember reading that at one point (and couldn’t find it again). I’ll say closer to 25 as the oldest with a few older ones here and there.
I guess the point is that I doubt at around 6 years, the clown likely isn’t dying of old age.

Ok no my clown is laying down on the sandbed. This is not normal behavior, it has just started acting like this yesterday or so. I don’t think it is the filter because the clown has been in the tank for a few years. Any other ideas?
