So I know there's been posts in the past on how to clean the Jebao DCP series of return pumps and how annoying it is to clean the impeller when it's seized up or too encrusted to spin enough to pump water.
Removing the impeller from the ceramic shaft without breaking it can be tedious at best. I've had this issue with these and other pumps in the past and thought about using a bearing puller but always convinced myself that it wouldn't work or it would break the impeller. Well, I was wrong. It works amazingly and cleaning the pump is super easy now.
I keep 2 pumps, one in service and one on a shelf, to make regular maintenance easier (and to deal with times when I didn't clean soon enough and the impeller seizes up). I use this with both pumps and it works perfectly. There's sometimes a loud "snap" where it breaks the impeller free from the shaft, but it hasn't broken anything and it's make cleaning so much easier.
Just pop it off and soak everything in citric acid and you're golden.
