hi, any of you guys know a good way to clean up reef plugs that were once/are covered in hair type algea all dried up before re-using them, would a bleech or vinigar soak do it without poisoning future corals glued to them?

I ordered some zoas from an internet store and they arrive COVERED in hair algae. In fact, I couldn't see the zoas through the algae. The good thing about this was that my yellow tang had a feast. I don't know if they, yellow tangs, all have such a taste for hair algae, but if you have a big enough tank a yellow tang might provide you with a perfect solution to the problem.
