After so many years, I finally got my hands on an Australian Christmas Tree Worm Rock! While I've kept the other species that are available in the hobby and would like to aquire another of those, these Australian ones have been a holy grail of mine since about 4th grade when I first discovered them in a nature documentary narrated by David Attenborough (I'm a Senior in Highschool now so it's been quite a long time haha).
After stalking @Corals.com for quite a few months watching all the other ones get swiped up, I managed to find the perfect one since it wasn't too expensive due to the back to school sale, nor too big which was good since I'm running out of space in my tank. But the amount of life on the rock is insane.
So far I've counted about 11-12 Christmas Tree Worms, 4 Pagurita Hermit Crabs, 2 Barnacles, and a variety of other fan Worms that also live on here. The original photo on the site had about 7 - 8 Worms and 2 Crabs that I could see so this was a pleasant surprise. I'll definitely be on the lookout for another from them, thank you so much!
These are definitely one of the more difficult animals I've had to photograph due to their body shape, it's hard getting everything in focus on a Macro level. I'll have to experiment with some different techniques but here's what I have so far!
