Hello, I just noticed a chip on the corner of my 20g vertical tank. Right at halfway down. It is already holding water and I have no idea how long it has been there. Do I need to take the whole thing down or do we think I’m okay? I love this tank so would be sad to have to trash it. And financially not sure I can get another right away.

I feel like the answer is yes but it just makes me sad. Hahah

That makes me cringe just looking at it! Get a tote and lower that water level asap. That’s a disaster in the making right there.

I'm sorry, that really stinks and it's a very cool looking tank.
Since the chip has started a spider crack you're out of luck and you need to break it down or risk a catastrophic failure.

Replace, replace, replace. It's in the worst possible spot. That tank is gonna go, it's just a matter of time.

Appreciate all the comments! The moment I posted I knew I was just in denial. I took it down to an inch below the lowest level of the crack after posting. Any hope that I could run it at half and turn it into a palladium? Or dumpster the whole thing and stop trying to tempt fate?

Get a crested gecko or something adjacent they would love the height of that tank, but I would never trust it to hold water again.
