Old Orchard Aquarium is in Skokie, just north of the city - huge selection. Xzotic Aquatics is in Niles, also just north of the city & they're awesome!
Old Town Aquarium is a really nice, smaller store on Irving Park & Pulaski - great store as well.

Old Town Aquarium & Tank It Easy are still open. They’re not super close to Navy Pier but you can definitely get there pretty easily. If you can only choose one, go to Tank It Easy, in my opinion. They have more displays to check out and a huge coral farm system.
Several of the stores in the north suburbs have closed - Xzotic, old orchard, seven seas.

I think The Coral Stop is up that way. I thought I saw them post on facebook onetime they were in the Chicago area. They may just be a garage seller though, not sure.
