So I got this Plana last weekend it is perfectly healthy. It is a little faded from dipping but the polyps are out and appears to be doing well.

For some reason though this hermit crab we have come to name Tarzan will not stay out of it.... I have taken him out four times now moved him to opposite side of the tank and walk by an hour later and there he is hangin out. I have watched him closely and he is not eating it and has never gone and sat in any of my other acros I do not understand? Anyone had this issue before or see a problem with him being in there? He is close to going in the back chamber for life!:xd:

every time I put something new in my tank or even just move something around everything in the tank has to go over & check it out I wouldn't worry unless it starts doing some damage (even a little bit) then I would move it out great pic by the way

I have at least one or two blue legs and scarlets that do the same thing in just one of my acros. No idea why but I just let them be an they have never hut it.

Haha Rev that was funny! Thanks for the replies I will keep my eye on the guy and see how he does it is just weird. Came home again today and there he was I moved him out and to the other side of the tank and he made a bee line straight back to it. Crazy!

So I do not know what the deal is this crab has not left this coral since I put it in there...he has been up there about a week now. There is another smaller one at the base of the coral that has not moved either? Weirdest thing this crab has never messed with any of my other acros just this one? Anyone else have any ideas I am concerned it is going to irritate the coral and begin to do damage? Thanks!

I had one do the same thing a few years ago. It never hurt the acro, but it did eventually get its shell wedged between the branches and ended up dying. The acro then grew around the shell. Pretty crazy. I would just keep an eye on it and if you think it is hurting the acro. Give him a time out in the yard :)

Same thing with my blue legs. And everytime they to climb my acros, in the morning i see some molting.

Very interesting now that you mention it I think I saw some recently molted exoskeletons as well. I never associated the two events though. Ill have to keep an eye out for that next time.

Yea crabs will look for a safe spot to molt. They are vulnerable while molting. There bodies are soft and easily picked off by predators while molting. Maybe e feels safe in it lol
