Hello everyone, I have a question about carbon dosing and UV-C devices- can they work together ?
more specific- does UVC device will interrupt to the bacteria that feeding from carbon dosing ?
I know that the bacteria that "eats" the PO4 , and then becoming food source for the corals...Is UV-C destroying that process?

Just my opinion but the bacteria that becomes coral food source likely grows on the coral.
UV will impact what is in water column.
So perhaps there is some impact on free floating bacteria but I suspect most of the bacteria is biofilm on glass, rock, corals, sump etc…. and UV will not impact this.

I never used a UV, partly because I didn't see a reason to, and partly because I did not want to kill off the bacteria being boosted by the vinegar I was dosing.

If you have some issue that you think the UV is helping with, it may well be worth continuing it, but otherwise, I might stop it and see if anything changes.
