Can you mount a light to an external overflow box?

Would it be safe to mount an XR15 on the external overflow box of an IM 40L EXT (see below)?

I personally wouldn't because of the weight that's already going to be on the overflow box from the plumbing.

I'm not sure I would.
But my external overflow box has 3 drain lines coming out of the bottom and each is supported with a c-clamp to the back of the stand. Even with that I probably would figure another way
