I'm setting up an observation tank that I would eventually like to turn into a mantis/frag tank one day. It came with this acrylic sump that had a trickle tray w/ bio balls and a sponge in the bottom separating the chambers.
For the observation tank I could honestly probably run that setup for now, but for the future I would really like to drop in a Reef Mat 250 and internal skimmer.
Observation Tank Phase - Filter floss pad on drip tray, bio balls
Mantis/Frag Tank Phase - ReefMat 250, Internal Skimmer
PS - I'm not married to the red sea skimmer, any internal (non-hob) skimmer will do.
