I’ve switched to a bigger tank in the last month. Using live rock and other live media from my old tank, I also used live sand, and a bottle of atm colony in the new tank. It cycled instantly and all levels have been great for about a month.
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0-5ppm
Salinity 1.026
Ph 7.8-8

Then in the last two days had this brown algae start spreading across the sand. Then all over the rocks and it’s growing a hair type algae.

I thought diatoms but don’t think they are hairy algae are they?

Also the rocks are now covered in tiny little bubbles..

Any ideas?

I only use RO water with 0 tds for my salt water mix.
I do feed twice a day usually one (thawed) frozen brine/mysis shrimp cube.

does it go away at night and come back when the lights come on? Could be diatoms but I have never seen them make bubbles. A picture under white lights would help ID as well.

Could be a green cyano maybe. I do see some GHA as well maybe that is trying to form. I didn't see a PO4 listing in your parameters have you tested that? Did you use the sand from the old tank or new live sand?

Just looks like normal new tank diatoms, maybe early GHA and some rock slime algae. You will experience a variety of ugly phases over the course of your first year.
