So I recently got way too deep into taking pictures of my corals... and I went out and bought a Sony a6000. I've been shooting with my Google Pixel 6 Pro, which has been good, but I wanted even better pictures.

Does anyone have any recommendations for filters to use if I am shooting in heavy blues? I went out and bought some tiffen filters:

I haven't had the chance to use them, but they seem more saturated? than the phone lens kits. i.e. the orange is very orange and the yellow is very yellow. Is there a different filter I should be buying? I also can't seem to find many 40.5MM filters for my lens.

Here's some pictures from my pixel 6 pro, since I have yet to shoot with the sony...

what settings did you use? I have a google pixel 6 pro as well and looking to shoot some of my corals. I got the coralvue clip on filters to filter out blues. Just wondering if there's camera settings I should change to get the best pictures possible of corals?

Those are too small for my lens.. they are 37MM or the new ones are 52MM. I guess I could buy an adapter to step up to the 52mm

I just use the normal camera and use the telephoto when shooting macro. If my lights are pretty white, I don't use the clip on lens (if I do I use the yellow one). Then I will adjust the white balance using the camera app slider to what looks most realistic to me. If i am shooting in heavy blues, I might use the orange clip on

also if you are wanting to shoot macros with telephoto, get a tripod. the pixel 6 pro is pretty amazing at macros with the telephoto.

I use a Nikon D610 camera with a 200mm f/4 macro lens, but no filters. I set the camera's white balance to its maximum of 10,000K, and I also adjust the spectrum of my lights to be less blue during photo shoots. These photos are straight from the camera with absolutely zero Photoshop editing:

I didn't know they made custom portholes! How much did that run you if you don't mind me asking?

For this particular model, they generously offered to provide it in exchange for some coral photos for their marketing department, but that was a lucky one-off deal. I have no idea what it would have cost, but I'm sure they would send you a quote.

I use this filter:

If you get a step-up ring you can probably slap the 49mm version on your lens:

Here are some pics I've taken with the filter on my macro lens. I had the lighting super blue hence the weird temp:

I see they have a 40.5mm, so ill actually just grab that. I completely missed it, the first time.
