I got this sea hare on Friday from my lfs to combat some hair algae I've been getting and today I came home to half it's body missing(the head half) and the bottom just floating by the sand bed. Now I saw him last night grazing and moving around so I have no idea what could have caused this. Is there any predators to it that I don't know about? And should I do a water change? I don't know if he inked or anything yet. I attached some photos so you can see what I mean.

What other tank inhabitants do you have?

Possible he got into a powerhead?

That is a pretty clean cut/detach tho....
I have a dragonet, bi-color blenny, watchman goby, orchid dotty and two green chromis. As far as inverts I have 1 electric blue hermit crab, two black hermit crabs, a blood red shrimp and a pistol shrimp. Besides just some corals so I'm not sure if one of them did him in. Do sea hares invert like that when they die or did he actually get eaten? I don't think he got into a power head cause the tank is pretty clear and the power head have small openings

I'd go with @fishguy242 On this one.

It may have been dying before.

He was pretty big when I got him, I guess that could be the case but it happened so sudden, last night he was grazing and today half his body is left. Should I do a water change? I just did one Friday night before I added him, don't want my fish to die and don't wanna shock my new corals either. What would you do?
