oo my bad, i meant somewhere closer to the florence area. florence anaheim area. anywhere nothern is a no go unfortI hear vivid Aquariums is excellent.
Reef Lounge is a good shop. I go to their Norco location since I'm in the I.E.Reef Lounge in Anaheim is rad.
is that on the way coming into the valley or leaving cali? im in az so its a drive either wayTo be honest most of the LFS in So Cali are not so great compared to others out of state.
LAX is very Large, its definitely something you should visit.
Vivid is all the way out in woodland hills, it has a very nice collection of coral and cheap frags, but its far.
Ellis Aquatics is CHEAP. Good quality, but jaw dropping prices, on a lot live stock. But the store is small.
I have been meaning to go by Underwater Depot, which my friend says is good, and Marks Tropical is also supposed to be good.
But again, stores here, aren't as special as the ones i see on youtube, and i typically just order online.
Ellis is solid on coral, the livestock is a huge meh and you better QT it, the livestock tanks have everything in them, lol.Vivid.... Under Water Depot... LAX Aquarium... Ellis Aquatics.
hmm what about coralEllis is solid on coral, the livestock is a huge meh and you better QT it, the livestock tanks have everything in them, lol.
Never had issues with coral, but that's at your own risk.hmm what about coral

How’s Ellis’s stock on shrooms and softies? These would all be So. Cali... The furthest one would be Vivid which is up north about 1 - 1:30 hr drive from Downtown Los Angeles.
Ellis and LAX are probably closer to each other.
You could knock them out in 1 day.
I suggest you visit LAX first, then just jump on the 405 -> 105 to Ellis which should be at most 20-30min away.
Ellis has Meh on coral to be honest.
A Lot of SPS, some LPS, but most of his good stuff is on reserve or on hold for it to grow out.
Again Ellis has the BEST prices... some of his prices are just insanely low.
He passes his savings on his store cost to his clients, which is why i keep going there.
I got my first coral after coming back from the hobby there, and now its almost over taken even my new tank.
(Frammer).... But all my other corals, i got online, or from members on forum.
Don't expect to see Indo Gold Torches or Holy Grails at Ellis, although you may find some exotic SPS.
If you really want to go browsing coral Vivid has the best collection, because most of LAX's stuff is also already sold on there live auction, and its out on the holding tank.
Again, the comercial rental space is too expensive for a lot of LFS to handle, and saltwater LFS on top is like burning money.
So we don't have that many great stores.
I am at the mercy of AquaSD, TopAquatics, Reef2Reef Members for corals.
Again all my best corals are from R2R members, and probably a few from AquaSD.
AquaSD is San Diego, which is about 2 hours south of Los Angeles, and 1:30 min south of Orange County.
If your in OC, it maybe a thing to go down to SD for a visit. Its a beautiful city, and Sea World along with Lego Land is also there.
Yea. I go to Cali a lot cause family but I haven’t been ever since I started my saltwater hobby. It sucks I can’t buy anything I just wanna look lol. Otherwise I would totally splurge out and start asking aroundThese would all be So. Cali... The furthest one would be Vivid which is up north about 1 - 1:30 hr drive from Downtown Los Angeles.
