The other day I’d have to say it started about a week or so ago, I noticed my BTA stretching between two parts on the live rock. I began to think about a poss. split, but payed no mind.

About two days ago (8/5) I see the ‘nems mouth all the way to one side. I then really began to ponder, “I think the Anemone is splitting.” (In order to keep everything normal. I kept the light cycle the same. I did a 10% water change 8/6.)

(8/7/21) —- I woke up this morning to a beautiful baby anemone!! A natural split of the BTA. It seems to be doing well! Both of the anemones seem to be doing well and very happy. Both have stayed attached to the rock, from whom I believe to be the mother has been creeping slowing around the rock from this morning, still close but moving slowly.

*My first BTA split R2R friends. Is there anything I should be looking out for or watching for with these two. Like I said, they both seem to be happy. Whereabouts is mother going? I’d like to make sure all my boxes are checked off. Is there anything I should be doing.

Just let them be and they’ll both be happy
Also those are rainbows not bw

I know the owner of the shop. I went to the shop personally and the rest is history. I don’t see LTC as one to advertise BW and then sell a rainbow.

Yes. This is what a BW looks like

I don’t even know how to approach this now. Changes my entire thoughts on how new people in the hobby can be taken advantage of. Sucks in a way and makes you think long and hard on who to go through and who to trust.

I believe I should message LTC and ask for their take in this, thoughts and explanation. Clearly the site (screenshot I posted) states BW Anemone.

I appreciate you educating me good sir. Thank you again @James M

Unfortunately lots of stores don’t care and would rather get money than educate other people. This is why I only shop from local people and the selling forums
I doubt they’ll do anything for you but it’s always worth a try to see if they will do anything

Whenever I am looking at picking up any livestock for my tank, I do a search on phone for pic and info on whatever i am looking at to be sure it’s what I want.

On the splitting subject If anyone has had this experience , my big watermelon BT split twice. All 3 sections looked good for a couple weeks before all 3 withdrew. What it looks like now after a cpl weeks of being closed and moving slightly is a cpl of them are extending with more of a normal look but what was quite long tentacles on all 3, appears to be now short and stubby . So my question is, is it a healing function of splits to pull in and shorten tentacles to better match the new smaller body mass?
