For a new 75 gallon tank with cannister filtration and no refugium, what would you suggest ? 2 Darwin clowns and 3 blue green Chromis at the moment. Future plans are softies, Montipora and hopefully a mated pair of blue Dragonets

For a 75 I would be either a 32 Oz minimum of a 1/2 gallon if you really want to maximize.
This early in the game I would just get our blended. Wait for the tank to mature to go into the more diverse mix.

You say in the future, but if you have corals or filter feeders the premium had the added rotifers.
