Building your own aquarium from stand to tank

This is My 300 gallon system that I built from scratch. From 70 gallon sump/refegium to 230 gallon display tank, stand and floating light housing everything was built from the ground up. Really proud of it. There is 40 fish in there including 8 tangs and 7 wrasses Anyone else build there own tanks ?

Nice work on your tank!!! I know that @Ron Reefman has built multiple tanks over the years.

As Peace River said above, I may have built 6 tanks and as many stands over the years, but my biggest is a 90g tank with a 30g sump/fuge. I have to say congratulations on building a 230g tank yourself. That's quite an accomplishment as a DIY venture!

It looks like you euro braced the tank and did a center brace as well? That's what kept me doing smaller tanks as I wanted the rimless look and no braces. Besides the fact that I've had bigger tanks that I didn't build and I wanted to go smaller.

If you don't mind my asking, how thick is the glass? Did you set the side glass on the bottom glass or along side the bottom glass? BTW, how long has the tank been set up and running? How long have you been in the hobby?

Hi - brilliant tank. This is exactly the size (display+sump) that I am targeting and I am hoping to build from scratch as well. Can you provide any specifics about the actual tank build? Seems like it could be unwieldy to handle the glass.
