Hi all, been looking at getting a basic microscope that wild be good enough to id my tank diatoms/dino. Don’t have allot to spend and wonder of this would be ok ?

Should be fine. Wouldn't spend too much on it if you're just going for diagnostics, I got this one three years ago during an outbreak that turned out to be ostreopsis dinos which it helped me identify. Haven't used it since. With today's shipping and stock, I think you'd be more than safe waiting until you needed it unless you're wanting to start making slides and such...in that case, have fun!

The one I have doesn't have any cell phone cam attachments but I managed to shoot through eye piece and get these. Just for a reference on what cheap can do.

Just bought this one last week. Really nice value for the price (paid 30€ / 35 USD) helped me identify ostreo and now the kids love it...

Depends on what "budget" means to you but, personally, I think the digital ones with LCD screen that can capture pictures and video directly to micro SD card in the unit are easiest.

Amazon has tons starting around $40 with 4"-5" LCD and around $80+ with 7" LCD.
