Pretty new tank, started to get a build up of detritus a few days ago and now there are small bubbles forming on the sand and the rock as well. Any ideas what this is and how to fight it before they blow up?

I agree this looks like the start of dinos, if you see this spot starting to look like long stringy brown slime, it's a safe bet to investigate some dino threads. A microscope can help you identify these also. It's not anything to worry about I've had them several times, actually just getting over them in one tank now, just stay on top of manually removing them right now there is something to remove, that's what I would do in the mean time, until you come up with a plan based of your research. Good luck
