Got a green bubble tip from lfs, when he was in the shop he was all bubbly and happy. It's been a week since I have him he is all stretched up and looks like more of a long tentacle anemone. Does he need more light?? He takes food normally and is in the same place after moving a little on the first day. The light green one which I got a month before him looks settled more than him.

They don't need to be fed.
Nems just need a mature tank, steady parameters and good lighting.

No one knows the exact reason some stay bubbly and others don't. It just happens. Best of luck with your new anemone.
I don't either, but blue lights, my bta stays bubbled. White lights turn on. It stretches for the sky!

Also, a par meter would really help your bta and knowing if he's getting enough light. Being able to scape the rock from 100 to 350 is very helpful if the anemone wants to find a comfort zone as well.

Yeah looks like I need to upgrade my light thanks a lot guys.
Welcome. As some have said though... It may stay that way for some unknown reason, even after trying the light adjustments. My anemones are so finicky... Another thing too is if you have fish hosting it, it may be adjusting to it's relationship with the fish.

If he wanted more light he would move.
If he wants more/less flow he will move.
Just leave him alone.
Seems the big thing now is feeding regularly.
Not natural for nem, usually ends up in overfeed, a digestion plug, and a spit…..which is very stressful.
Except for 1 squirt of Mysis once a month, I have never feed mine in 3 years.

I second this really. I never meant to imply to move him in my post.

The idea is to give him the aquascape so he can get comfortable. If the anemone isn't moving. I let them be. My bta hid under a rock for a month. Just showing tentacles.
The anemone you have, I would look to see if it is a pinched mouth or stays open. I would worry on open mouth.

I too had the same thought, but the thing is he went into a hole in a rock and I am not sure if he can move even if he wanted to the one on the left

Hmmm may be one of the cause...I have seen my clown being aggressive to the nem making him uncomfortable at times

They can get in, and they can get out. I have seen them do some stuff. Never think it can't get out of a rock.

I check for his mouth everyday and it is closed so a little bit relieved

Anemones can really stress us out while they acclimate. Keep an eye out for the anemone eating or shedding tentacles. I Don't know the best way to address these 2 situations. I lost my first wild bta because of this. But, the mouth was closed and he kept sticky. So, I didn't know what to do. Kept shrinking weekly, with eventually no tentacles left.

Do you have a lfs who can help import lights in for you?

Edit: I know there are always finder fees. Maybe it can be done in reason.
I have tried here but they always recommend some unknown lights which they sell which they don't even know the par or power consumption or the imported ones are ridiculously over priced....like 3x the price...

I understand what you mean. maybe ask them for a light you want and see if they can get it? Also, some of these light companies will or may try to import for you. It's a hassle I know :(
