Hi all,

I’m fairly new to the hobby (a month in) I have a neptunian cube 90 with the above skimmer only recently running. It’s constantly overflowing with bubbles and it’s making me want to join the fish in the tank lol. I have tried lifting it higher which didn’t seem to make much difference. I have it set to max (min) and it’s currently sat in 8 inches of water. It is definitely skimming crap out of the tank as the collection cup is yellowish. Any ideas on how to reduce the bubbles and overflowing?

Thanks

Less water more air. There should be two controls one for water level one for amount of air going into the skimmer. Make sure your water control is dialed in so the least amount of water possible is in the body and the neck and make sure your air valve is 100% open. After a couple days of running and break in you will have to adjust the water level and the air intake to dial in what your specific tank needs

Mine did that at the water level 9”
When I lowered it, the overflow stopped on the lowest setting.
About 7” of water now.

The main large twist column is the water adjustment and that’s the only thing I can adjust on it. I have it set to the max. Can’t see any other adjustment areas on the device

Maybe this will help, I don’t have that skimmer but this should be more specific to your skimmer

7 inches seems to be the sweet spot for mine , I own two of them, also make sure the piece I have my finger pointed at will sometimes get plugged and not let air thru it and make it overflow. My adjuster is set between the 2 and 3 on both once they settled out. Also, some additives will make a skimmer overflow like crazy. Are you adding anything to the tank water? I hope this helps!
