Hello! Was curious if this was bubble algae that came with my Frogspawn frag I got today? If so, what’s the best way to get rid of it? If not then what could it be?

The bubble like substance by my thumb. Dark in color.

I didn’t dip my coral so maybe this was my first mistake..

No, bubble algae will happily emerge from your dip and live a long and happy life in your tank.

Best is to take the coral out and use something with a blunt edge to "pop" it off without POPing the bubbles. They tend to release in clumps.

Don't pop or remove the bubbles in your display. Pull the frag and do it in some fresh saltwater. After scraping if off, a peroxide spritz or dip can help to kill the remaining tissue. If you see it start to come back, repeat the process.

A lot of junk can sneak in on those trees...
I keep a fair amount of euphylia and I find that it is best to cut off dead heads like that one. They tend to harbor pests. I will also hold the coral upside down with only the heads in water and spritz the skeleton with peroxide followed by a light scrub with a toothbrush to remove any other pests and algae. Just don't scrub the white flesh at the base of the polyps. You will also want to inspect for any vermetids or other hitchhikers while you are at it and cut, eradicate that stuff too.

Get that bubble algae before it becomes a regret. Best of luck!
