Brown Growth on Euphyllia Cristata “Flesh”

Every since I first got this Cristata from ChaosAquaculture, it has had some brown algae grown on the flesh, around the tentacles.

The coral is otherwise healthy, growing, and even getting brighter colors. The problem is, the algae is growing with it. I have not encountered Brown Jelly Disease, but I am 99% sure this is not what it is. It looks, to me, like the algae that grows on a coral after it has died. My assumption was that the coral was dying, and would eventually be covered in algae, but that doesn’t seem to be the case, yet. Any ideas?

I have a LOT! It’s about 38 gallons total but the DT is 22 gallons.

They actually gave me about 170 Dwarf Ceriths. I also have 2 Trochus Snails, 6 blue leg hermits, an emerald crab, a Fire Shrimp, a Coral Banded Shrimp, and blue hippo tang, and a lawnmower blenny.

Let's start with them normal parameter check. .

I see healthy tissue around the head still so that's a good sign. I'm dealing with bjd right now. The flesh recessed first on every euphyllia that has died.

I had this problem with one of my blastos.
I bought tiny blue leg and red leg hermits and placed them right on the coral out of the bag.
They cleaned all the algae off.

Haven’t done that in a while but I’ll test everything right now. Every time I’ve tested, phosphates are nearly perfect, and nitrates are within a reasonable range of around 20ppm. I’ll update with parameters when I’m done with them all

I have a couple of blue legs! I’ll try setting one on there while I test parameters. I think you might be disappointed in my low nitrates ;Hilarious unless that’s changed of course

Not to steer away from the thread but I was able to overcome BJD recently with heavy carbon and chemiclean.
