Helll reefers,

I noticed yesterday this on my zoa colony and half of colony is closed now.

I don't see any similar algae on rocks or glass, but I see it on 2 sps corals too.

What is it? What is the treatmant?

Thank you!

While kind of hard to see, it is stringy and i think (maybe!) dinos, but again, it is kind of hard to see.
what is your nitrate and phos at? how old is the tank? do you have a microscope? also might be coral poop lol (but i am fairly certain that it is not)

Def not poop.

Nitrates 5.0
Phos 0.25

Tank 8 months old. Had a dino outbreak around 3rd month but got over it.

Should I do a h2o2 dip for the whole rock to kill dinos?

Regardless of what type of algae it is, manual removal is the first step. Is that the only reason the zoas are closed? Who knows. But eliminating the algae from the frag/rock will help you determine that.

while it could be dinos, i am not as certain, have your nitrate and phos been unstable or really low the past week? i would do a manual removal (siphon the algae of the rocks) i would stay away from h202 for now.
