(Copy from my home club)
Well I am not sure how many of you where here 6.5 years ago when we lived in MA and lost everything in a house fire. I was very involved as an officer in the club. I lost over 700 gals of reef tanks it was devesting. The cause was a faulty power strip that was sold as an aquarium safe poser strip. I learned very fast there is no such thing. So to answer your questions I had to order everything over (tanks to frag plugs . We ended up moving to NH where I did set up a Red Sea 130 Gal tank I think that was the size. But I couldn't shake the unease of the fire so after a year I broke it down every that didn't sell was donated to the club's annual auction, most of the live stock was bought by Dong. This new build is going to help me put the past behind me but also going to take my time and ensue that no moisture will get to the electronics by setting up their own cabinet at least a foot away from the tank.
Here is a list of the buy so far.
White REEF 100.3 Aquarium System (72 Gallons) - Waterbox
Trident & Apex Controller System Bundle - Neptune Systems
Radion XR15 G5 Blue LED Light Fixture - EcoTech Marine x2
RMS XR15 G5 Tank Mount System - EcoTech Marine
Radion XR15 G5 Diffuser Upgrade - Ecotech Marine
Syncra SDC 6.0 WiFi Controllable Pump (530-1450 GPH) - Sicce
Also a back up for pumps and heaters.
I haven't picked a skimmer yet as I want to wait until I get the tank and get a good look at the sump, I will be getting a refugium baffle from Octo. This way I can better judge the footprint of a skimmer.
and of course rock I went with different size marco rocks so I can play around with the scape, I have always liked selves over arches but might do something different this time around. I want my tank to mostly be softies but I never can keep to that mindset and always end up with a 70/30 split.
I also ordered all the items needed from frag kits to refractometer. It really wasn't that bad considering I had to start from zero and bought it all at once. I look at it as a investment in my health as during the winter my stress level raises as I cant be outside in my gardens.
I will start the assembly once I get the new shades for the great room since I will have to block one window because of the wife's desire for the location of the tank and I pick out what I want for the side cabinet.
Oh ya the piece of mind about fires, I bought a nest smoke and fire detector to put in the electronics cabinet that can be tied into my current security system and a Ring indoor cam, ok that one might just have been me wanting to see it while I am at work
