Does anyone know if the shaft in this pump is fixed to the magnet/impeller and spins in the bushings on either end, or if the magnet/impeller is supposed to spin on the shaft and the bushings just support it?

It stopped working last night, motor is fine but impeller is sticky. Soaked it in citric acid, no visible deposits left but it still won't spin, can be turned by hand with resistance but the motor won't spin it. The magnet/impeller does not turn on the shaft, if it is supposed to I am in trouble. Sent an email to BluLine, but no response as yet.

Thanks for any replies!

Not familiar with this particular pump but almost all mag drive aquarium pumps I have seen spin the impeller on a stationary shaft.

That's what I'm afraid of, because it is very solidly stuck to that shaft. Thanks!
