Hey guys. Wondering if anyone had had any luck with these NOT eating coral vs the usual Kleini? Does Indian Ocean origin matter on these?

We have a copperband doing really well but not taking out the bigger aiptasias. Peppermint shrimp have been useless. Thanks!

IME, there is no ‘Blue Head’ or ‘Brown Head’ Variant. They all have blue heads however under certain angles and lighting the Blue Head is much more obvious.

Do you have a photo of a ‘Brown Head’ Kleini? From the sounds of it they may both just be different butterflies altogether.

You want the blue head Kleini, not all yellow version. I have a blue now and had two others in two other tanks when I had three tanks running and they never let me down and will eat aptasia like candy. Pyramid butterfly also very safe

I just want to say:
Look very closely at that second one, it has a blue head. The blue head just isn’t very clear and likely due to the lighting it isn’t as bright as the top photo.

The yellow has dots but not the distinct all blue- this is correct as shown

Another non blue ( I think OP gets it)

As suspected - this is not a true kleini! In fact this isn’t a kleini at all!
This is Chaetodon rafflesi - The Latticed Butterflyfish.

Both photos seen above the raffelsi are in fact true Kleini and there is no difference - both have blue heads however as I said, one is less obvious than the other.

Think I'll try it. It should get along with yellow long nose and copperband I'm assuming. I think you may be the only one promoting this fish as more reef safe lol. Thanks!
Copperband I also have an no issues.

You can see copperband in the center of pic

I just have way too many aips that the copperband can't keep up with. F aiptasia seems to not be doing as well as it once did even though it's the best "chemical" so far we've tried. The copperband also doesn't want to touch the larger ones, mostly small to medium.

The last one googling pics is indeed a rafflesi AKA sunburst butterfly - nice work Google and they even posted name Kleini to it but the original I posted is indeed a kleini and are indo-pacific species

My copperband wont look at aptasia yet will eat anything that hits the tank including all dry foods
