Quite possibly. He said the were Fiji nassarius, but if they are it would be new to me. The illynassa obsoletus is a whelk. So far haven't noticed and aggressive behavior. Even with other small nassarius snails right by them.

Whelk's shells look more like...those macaroni shells (? Thats all i can think to describe it) and nassarius are more round.
