I just recently got a whole 29G biocube setup with the old style hood with the bulbs which I am not a big fan off they seem to be in perfect condition as well as the fans but I was wondering if I should just ditch the hood and put a 165 w viparspectra light on top and have that or just keep the stock I have all beginner type corals Duncans, cyphastrea, toadstool leather, blasto, birds nest and a couple others that I just can remember and they are all currently in a 13.5 gallon fluval evo growing like crazy
Any help on this situation is of great use thanks!

Unsealing the hood brings the evaporation problems. I just did the new led hood and cycle rocks, media balls, frag plugs, grow algae, breed inverts and live food. I use old tank water, original pump, no heater and foam block for the filter.

No mine has new LED hood. Hood holds in moisture and heat. I never have to top off the water or have worries of a dry pump. I absolutely neglect the tank. Swap 5 gallons recycling water from my DT. Purpose of the bio cube is my own food source.
