BIG FISH WEEK: What your most favorite "big fish" in the hobby?

Happy Monday and happy BIG FISH week! This week we'll focus our topics around those fish that are big, beautiful and poop a lot. What are we calling big fish? Well I guess it's any fish that might grow up to 8-12"+ or so maybe? That's up for interpretation. When I personally think of "big fish" I think of surgeons (tangs), large angelfish, rabbitfish etc. So let's kick it off today with some basic questions!

1. What's your most favorite "BIG FISH" in the hobby?

2. How many "BIG FISH" do you currently house in your reef aquarium? Which ones?

I have a One Spot Foxface that is about 5" currently.....everything else is smaller.

I have 4 fish that get over 8” but three are engineer gobies and shouldn’t be considered big fish. My purple tang may get over 8” and I also have a few fish that can get to right at 8” (one spot foxface and CBB).

There are a lot of fish that I’d like to have but can’t because of size, like a orange shoulder or naso tang.

Foxface about 4-5"
Yellow Tang 3 inch
Blue tang 2-3 in
I will only put in tangs that get 8-10". Preferably 8". I love kole and tomini tangs. And anthias. Would prefer a lot of smaller fish over a few large. Have 6 staghorn damsels that are in the 3" range that I need to get rid of first! Can't trap them!

Not necessarily....I mean, I just posted a picture of a hippo tang in a 25 gal nano tank..... so if anyone's getting the tang police today it is probably me

Nada in a 6' tank. They just look too out of place in tanks that aren't large. If I ever get my dream tank, Naso tang would be at the top of my list.

Also have a powder brown but doubt he will get over 8” plan on a 8X4x25” tank in a couple years for them to grow out in.

Foxface, hippo tang and sailfin I believe can get that large in my tank. All the others are maybe 3-4" max.

Also in team nada, but my favorite would have to be Neotrygon kuhlii, the bluespotted maskray (not the more common Taeniura lymma).

Humpback cowfish (little guy right now) and a marine betta. Both should grow to be about 8 inches.

My three are roughly a foot long but probably only as big around as a finger or a litter bigger. Still nothing compared to mass of an equally long “traditional” shaped fish.

My 30” banded eel probably weighs less than my 5” mag fox

Imperator......mine was about 12 inches when I shut down my tank and donated all my fish to the Oklahoma Aquarium. BTW...if you have never been to it, the Oklahoma Aquarium is very, very good.

Engineer gobies!! I think they're each 1-2 feet.
