Have you tried running the skimmer air intake to the top of your skimmer to recycle the air? Or pull in outside air? Increase water flow at the surface?

These are all things I would try before the CO2 scrubber. I bought a CO2 scrubber and only used it for a month when I realized how quickly it uses up the resin. Didn’t feel like adding that biweekly chore and expense to my system. Turned out I got similar results just from pulling outside air.

I can try pointing the power heads up as to pulling out side air to the skimmer I wouldn’t be able to run a line to the skimmer to out as I have 2 kids that will just mess with the line

I would give the powerheads toward the surface a try first. As Randy said, every situation is different and it may or may not work for you. In my experience though, it does work for a lot of people with low pH issues, especially if you had a lack of surface aeration to begin with.

You can do a quick experiment with an air pump. Put some water in a cup and bubble it inside for 30 mins checking pH before and after bubbling. Then do the same thing with a fresh cup of water (same volume) outside. If there is a difference in the pH change, you may have a CO2 issue that would be helped by running your air intake back to the skimmer cup or bringing in outside air.

I totally understand about the kids as I have a 3 year old at home. But it can be done. I used PVC to get outside and put a vent on it like your furnace or clothes drier outlet. Its fixed, so pretty kid proof. The PVC then adapts to the flexible tubing to the skimmer near the sump (under your stand behind a child lock I presume).
