I am running a current orbit marine light. I do not think it’s doing the best job for my corals. I have a candy cane acan, gsp, daisy polyps, a hammer, some zoas, kenya, toadstool, and a couple mushrooms. I bought this light before I had coral. My tank is a curved 55 gallon. I am worried the light is not good enough for my coral. Does anyone have any opinions on my the orbit light, and if I should get a different light. My budget is nothing too crazy but if its better for the long run to spend some extra dollars for a better light I am willing to.

I also forgot to add that I have a glass lid. Is that okay to have or will it block out light for the coral? If it’s bad what’s a good substitute for a lid?

i have not used that light before, but i would say the glass lid might make the tank heat up so just be careful about that, if you want an alterative i would suggest a mesh lid, as for a new light i would recommend kessil or radion

i’ve been using AI primes and hydras the past couple years and now with t5 on my main tank too which for me work wonders, but from experience certain tanks for whatever reason like certain lights
i had a cheap $60 aquaknight light early on over a 15 gallon tank and it grew corals like crazy
for me it was just trial and error

2 of these will work and are cheap. They come with bulbs just make sure it's the Marine version
