So the biggest mistake ive got is not getting an actual picture of the thing im asking about.
However I bought a bubble coral about an hour ago and on the base i noticed some usual pests, asterina, vermitid snails etc.
But there is something I have never come across before. All I can say is it looked like a cross between a flatworm or a beetle.
It was white in colour, oval in shape, almost like a limpet but no shell and they were moving at around the same pace as a flat worm.
The only thing I have found which would be close is this
but white not brown.
maybe it was just a type of pod ive never seen but im curious if anyone else has any ideas on what they were.
I ended up scrubbing the coral base with a toothbrush whilst in dip for quite some time and these things didn't die or want to come off on their own. They wernt suctioned down or anything just with my finger they would come off easy. but because I wasn't sure whether or not they all come off I did a fresh water dip. At that point they did start to run out of the cracks in the coral and I believe I have got them all off.
The poor coral is not looking to good now after that.
Anyways If anyone has an idea what they could be id appreciate any info as who knows if I got them all. I probably shouldn't have bothered adding to the tank but hey ho.
