It's been two weeks still try eradicate ich off of my chocolate tang. My approach is metroplex/focus. Spots will get better one day and be worse the next. It's been on going with this. I also think sometimes it upset his stomach. Still eating very well. So after 14 days I stand here now asking everyone if I should continue treatment with this food plan for another week or go on to. Dr. Gs. Frozen food. Not caviar but the frozen. I have some in my freezer it's about 6 months old. A little freezer burned. Okay order more but won't be here until Tuesday. He won't touch the caviar and guys please understand taking all fish out and QT is out of the question unfortunately. I know this is the best option but I cannot do this at this time. Please help me. I've also been soaking nori with selcon and vitamins goes nuts for it.

As long he is eating there is not much you can do but wait it out. With out removing all fish and going fallow to get rid of it. Ich is not always a death sentence. Good luck.

Good diet and low stressors is the way to go, metro will help, but it takes too long to start being effective and it might not eradicate ich completely, for Dr G i asked them about their medicated food, they refused to answer my question, but if i remember correctly humblefish mentioned that they might be sourcing cp from china, which is not guaranteed to be effective.

Since the ich is not disappearing even with metro, then you need to find the source of the strssor, aggressiveness, stray voltage, out of norm parameters, etc...

Best of luck

Your situation here really is an issue of ich management versus eradication. Only with proper QT treatment and going fallow with your tank will it be possible for eradication . In your case, ich will unfortunately continue to thrive in your tank and your fish will always be affected to various degrees depending on different variables. So with that said and in order to manage the ich in your tank, my recommendation would be to continue to soak food with vitamins and alternate with garlic extract to help the fish be as healthy as possible to battle ich on their own. Make sure your tank provides a pristine and stress free environment as well. Just my .02 cents. Good luck!

Yes, that's what I meant. Wrong choice of words. Now do you think using the metroplex blend for two weeks with no results or switch to the dr. Gs frozen anti parasite food?

I think the metroplex is stressing him out tbh.

Antibiotics can be harsh of fish, you can try Dr. G, but honestly I dont believe medicated food can do anything to solve ich, you need to find the source that is stressing the fish and eliminate it so they can boost their immune system and fight ich, the other option is QT and medicate

Did you want to go for the "Ich Management"? Or "Ich eradication" route?
From your profile photo looks like catching all the fish is out of the question?
Trust me it is definitely worth tearing down your tank to QT and leave the tank fallow.
I have a 5ft tank and basically took all my live rock apart to catch and treat ich (through TTM) it was not fun, easy but it is great seeing my fish in the QT with no signs of ich.
I have less than 20 days in my fallow period and feel a lot better than just the idea of managing ich and stressing out daily in the event of an outbreak.
I'm sure you are aware that your whole tank has the ich parasite now and at least you have time decide on your next course of action (unlike the many out there that are going through velvet....)

So, you want own a tang..... I would test everything. If he is eating like pig , let him.I don't think I would remove him. If it was velvet I would, but he would not live this long if it was.

I'd stop medicating totally... it'll have no effect on the ich and will reduce appetite. What you're dosing will help any secondary infections but imo it's more important to get it eating properly. Feed a real variety, try to include blackworms and plenty of omega 3. This will strengthen the fatty layer under the skin and prevent ich from being able to burrow... omega 3 is poison to parasites like ich. Assuming the tang is still in the DT, the whole tank will be infected with ich now. So you need to decide to either remove all the fish to QT, copper treat and leave DT fallow OR to manage ich for the whole tank... in which case you need to be feeding all the fish the better diet all of the time.

Yes it's been three weeks. Today he won't eat. He did this last week 1 day and then next he ate like normal. I really feel like the metroplex. Bothers his stomach. So I hope he goes back to himself tomorrow. Like he did last time.

Metro could be to blame but a system with ich or any parasite attacking is very stressful and painful which can lead to a lack of appetite for either the short or long-term.

Yeah hopefully he will bounce back tomorrow. I noticed the metroplex would upset his stomach after he would eat a lot of it which he did yesterday.

Do you think turning the lights off will calm him down if he is stressed?

It couldn't hurt. Some people have said that a cleaner shrimp helped remove the parasites from there fish. I don't know if it works for sure . Mine had velvet and it swam right over to shrimp when I put it in, but I think he was to far gone to be saved.
