Hello all with a big sight of relief! I have been battling against what I am pretty sure were dinos for the last 2 weeks and I think I just might have won the battle! I tried a combination of methods and it seemed to work, although I really can't tell which of the measures was the decisive one.
Here is what I did:
Decreased lighting period to 6 hours per day, slightly decreasing whites and increasing blues.
Blowing/brushing rocks daily, siphoning off sand and loose particles.
Cleaning filters/skimmer cup daily.
Dosing 1 ml of hydrogen peroxide per 10 gallons every 12 hours.
Dosing a mix of calcium carbonate and beneficial bacteria (10 ml for 120 gallons) daily, as described here: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/e...cation-made-easy.916381/page-26#post-11263370
Two weeks later, the than has finally cleared and corals are starting to open up again.
