Hey all!

ive had my banded shrimp for a while now, over a year, and he’s roughly maybe 1.5 inches long, pretty beafy looking guy. I added some micro brittle stars and stomatellas to my tank recently, and the banded shrimp has very quickly decided to make a meal out of them. I’ve caught him multiple times eating the stars, to the point where I think he’s eaten them all, and now caught him tonight with a stomatella shell in hand, scraping it out.

I love my shrimp, but I hate him destroying my CUC. is there any way to placate him, or is he going to be a menace forever? 20g tank, aio, so sadly can’t sump him. I spot fed him mysis a few weeks ago, and that’s when he started acting especially violent:(

Its a predator shrimp, if its hungry, it will hunt, so feed him more often. I have CBS in my 5 gallon invert tank, with some hermits and snails, it leaves everything alone, its been about a year and half now. I feed it once daily.

I’ve been feeding him, but I’m dealing with high phos and low no3 right now, so trying not to increase the amounts and fuel even more GHA
