I think my experience with a new baby hippo is worth mentioning. My wife and foreign exchange student bought me a small hippo tang for christmas. I noticed the next day it had white bumps on it and I immediately assumed it was ich. I treated with reef safe supplements and garlic enriched food. I noticed though that the white bumps were more pronounced in the morning, then there seemed to be less of them at night. It turned out to be some type of pods attaching themselves to the fish and not ich at all. It's worth double checking and possibly saving yourself a lot of trouble.
