I’m having an algae turf scrubber made with a port to connect my skimmer air intake line too. I’m operating under the assumption that the air inside the unit will contain less co2 than the rest of my home.
So I’ve been struggling with aggressively low pH (7.55 - 7.6 at night). I live in a concrete and glass condo building so running the skimmer line outside is not an option. Running an ERV/HRV is not an option, and in the Summer it’s simply too hot to leave the doors open.
Outside of water changes and alk/ca dosing, I’m not a fan of “replenishables” in reefing. I’ve decided to try a co2 scrubber in the meantime, but I have a large tank and the idea of spending an equal amount of money on co2 media as salt just doesnt feel like a realistic long term solution to me.
Going to give the scrubber idea a try and will report back my findings. Just wanted to put it out there to the community in case anyone else is having similar pH challenges.
