Hey guys,

Could you help me decide among:

1) ATI 36" 4x39w + LED strips
2) ATI 36" 6x39w
3) ATI 36" 6x39W + LED strips

I'm not sure whether 4 bulbs would be enough for my tank.

SPS dominated tank, dimensions:

In centimers: 95cm L x 50cm W x 35cm H
In inches: 37" L x 20" W x 14" H

What type of coral do you plan to grow? for LPS I would say 4 bulbs will work just fine but if you want to grow SPS I would go with the 6 or 8 bulbs. LED strips can be added later if budged is limited.

I would go 4 bulb and the 2 led strips as this would save a little money and not have to replace as many bulbs every year (but depends on pricing of the units you can find as well).
6 could work as well and be nice to have, especially if you decide to upgrade tank size ever

Thanks! How wide was it?

As for the offer, I really appreciate it, but I’m a bit down south…

This is what I thought, unfortunately T5 bulbs in Brazil are quite expensive, so I will need to bring it in twice a year.

As mentioned, mainly SPS occupying half of the width (25cm).
Wouldn’t 8 bulbs cause a lot of spillage over a 50cm wide tank?

For a close tank size reference I am running a ATI 24" 8x24w SunPower on an SPS dominant tank that is 35" x 20" x 16" and it is almost overkill. I run 2 bulbs (Blue+) at 100% and the other 6 (3 Blue+, 2 Actinic and 1 6500K) at 70%.

I would think (if going all T5) a 36" ATI 6x24w on your size tank would be plenty of light.

Thanks! I ended up pushing the trigger on a 6 bulbs fixture.
