Once upon a time I (I mean my friend) tinkered with the dosing pump to add 620ml of Mg to his 150 gallon tank over a 24 hour period to raise his Mg
He found out the next day (22 hrs later) that he adjusted the wrong head and accidentally adjusted the NoPox instead of Mg.
Probably dropped about 500 ml in my (his) 150 tank.
Now that a pretty nice bacterial bloom has kicked in he realized his mistake. Her are the steps he’s done to help correct the issue.
1. Started with 20% water change (30 gal).
2. Removed reservoir cup from skimmer and cranked it full blast to oxygenate the water.
3. Luckily he never turned off his UV sterilizer.
4. Pointed the power heads directly to the surface to agitate as much water as possible.
5. Planning to do 20% daily water changes until water clears and comes back stable.
Anything my friend is missing?
