This is my first time keeping asian acans. And so far i heard mixed answers about it. One being they like cooler temps. My tank is at 78 most of the time max 79 in hot heat summer. Ill keep my eye on it. I found it odd its been doing it dailt. And even during day time its not as big as it used to be.That's normal; its just pooping like you said. As long as you don't see any recession, then you're fine.
Are you feeding it daily? If it's doing it daily and you're not feeding it daily that's abnormal. This is my first time keeping asian acans. And so far i heard mixed answers about it. I am not feeding it daily. But i feed the tank lrs frenzy. And obviously corals get some while at it so I wonder if thats the caseAre you feeding it daily? If it's doing it daily and you're not feeding it daily that's abnormal.
Maybe. If it's shrinking, that's not a good sign. Have you seen any skeleton exposed yet?I am not feeding it daily. But i feed the tank lrs frenzy. And obviously corals get some while at it so I wonder if thats the case
I got this acan around 2 months ago. It was doing great even growing a second head at the back. My lights schedule never changed nothing. Its been in the same spot i got it in.That looks like it might be expelling zooxanthellae, What kind of lighting is it under, do you have any measurements for PAR and whatnot? Has there been any recent change in the light intensity or schedule? Has it been moved lately to a higher intensity lighting area?
How long as it been spewing brown stuff, since you got it or only recently?
Definitely hard to say then, that amount of light shouldn't be an issue. It could still be zooxanthellae in a totally normal expulsion - sometimes even my older corals will puke out a strand every now and then. The shrinking is worrying though. I'm afraid I don't have any other suggestions with your parameters looking so nice.I got this acan around 2 months ago. It was doing great even growing a second head at the back. I would say it has been spewing brown stuff roughly if i remember correctly a week? Maybe less than a week. Not quite sure. I tested my oar a while back. And while i dont have the exact measurement for that specific spot its under 100 par.
