Hello, I'm looking for some help to ID a brown coating that suddenly developed on my substrate.
I've been doing some research and I think it looks like Porocentrum Dinos.
Can anyone confirm and provide some direction as to how to get rid of them?

Hi, thanks for the help. I hope these work. I took them this morning under AB+ but used the blue light filter.

Tough to tell, either prorocentrum or amphidinum. You may have seen this link already

Hey thank you so much. I did see the guide and I thought mine looked a bit like the pictures it shows for Porocentrum but being a total noob at algae/bacteria ID, I'm not certain if they are something else.
Thanks for the other links. I have some reading to do!

These are amphidinium. An uncommon form - seen it just a few times on the forum - but you can tell by the tongue or beak (epicone) sticking out the front.

Thank you very much to both of you! Your help is greatly appreciated. I'll focus on the Amphidinium Dinoflagellate Treatment Methods thread instead of trying to read the 510 pages form the general thread.
I really enjoy this community. I hope some day I'll be able to contribute back with some knowledge too.
