Bought a used 150 gallon tank. After filling , I noticed about a 6 inch scratch on the left side. I can feel it with my finger nail on the outside. If I look through the front , towards the side, I can see the line.

If it’s just cosmetic , so be it, it’s a used tank. Any Risk of being a weak spot down the road and causing a leak or failure ?

just commenting to mention the illusion of the ceiling tile grid in the background

I think it is fine, I’m not familiar with tanks that size though

They do not effect the structural integrity. If they did my house would be flooded. Anyone want a tank scratched I'm your man. One of the reasons I've never considered acrylic. I think I ussualy scratch them before adding water. I just do it and get it over with so I'm not upset when it happens. When I buy a new car I throw a rock at it so I don't get upset when it gets dented.
Just kidding about the car but not the tanks I've scratched them all numerous times :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Depends on a multitude of factors. Tempered glass, laminated, float glass, depth of scratch. In short, yes it does reduce the integrity of that particular panel. But because of the high safety factor aquariums are constructed with, it’s unlikely to cause any issues.
